Group Therapy

Our group therapy program offers a range of opportunities for support, psycho-education and skill-building to facilitate healthier living.

Current groups include:

  • Inner Healing
    Mondays, 4pm – 5:30pm
    Gain confidence, increase self-esteem, and learn ways to make closer connections to others.
  • Write After the Silence
    Wednesdays, 1pm-2:30pm
    Terrified of writing?  Love to write?  It doesn’t matter!  We all have something to share and this group will provide exercises to get the pen flowing
  • Gender Spectrum
    Thursdays, 2pm-3:30pm
    Build community with others who identify as trans, genderqueer or gender-variant, and those questioning their position on the gender spectrum.
  • Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
    STARTING SOON!
    3:45pm – 5pm Wednesday or Thursday – Please let us know which works best for you!
    Stressed Out? Want To Relax? Feel More Balanced? Come learn techniques to assist you to reduce pain, increase focus, decrease anxiety and depression symptoms and improve your outlook on life.
  • Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT)
    STARTING SOON!
    Monday: 1:30 – 3:30 pm, Tuesday: 11am – 1pm or Friday: 1:30pm – 3:30pm– Please let us know which works best for you!
    8-week training will include guided daily meditation, visualization, and breathing practices to develop loving-kindness, empathy, and compassion for oneself and others.
  • Seeking Safety
    NEXT ROUND STARTING SOON! Please let us know your availability!

    Learn new skills to feel safer and reduce the impact of PTSD and substance use on your quality of life.
  • Gentle Movement
    Alternating Tuesdays, 4pm-5pm
    PLAN TO RESUME IN JANUARY, 2017.  Please let us know your availability!

    Decrease pain and stress and increase wellness. Light stretching, small movements and breath work designed for a seated position. All equipment provided and no experience necessary!
  • Welcoming Women (ages 55+)
    Tuesdays, 1:15pm-2:30pm
    *NEXT ROUND starts MARCH, 2017, 8 week group*
    Build connections, discuss life as “women of a certain age”, meet new friends. Cis- and trans-women welcome.

Want to share, learn, laugh and meet others like you?  

In order to participate we require a brief mental health screening to determine eligibility.

We encourage anyone attending group therapy to also be engaged in individual therapy either at Lyon-Martin or elsewhere. Please click here for more information on our mental health services.

We accept MediCare and MediCal. Private insurance is plan-dependent — please check with your carrier. Uninsured clients may be eligible for sliding scale fees, based upon income and family size.
